The extend collegium of the Agency on Statistics

 An extended meeting of the board “On the 2014 first half-year results of the state statistical offices of the Republic of Tajikistan and tasks for 2014” was held in the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic Tajikistan on July 21, 2014 with the participation of the Agency management, subject matter departments and divisions of the central office, the Main Computing center, main statistical departments of the oblasts, the statistical office of Dushanbe-city, the RRS statistical offices and invited specialists from ministries and departments of the republic.
It was noted that the statistical offices guided by the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Majlisi Oli as of April 23, 2014, the orders and directions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on statistics performed the statistical work program approved by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2014. 5.1 thousand statistical works were provided in total.

Also during the first half of 2014 the Agency received 65 Resolutions and 227 tasks of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, 625 letters from the ministries and departments, which were provided with timely execution; the appropriate answers were submitted to the requests. Information on all economic sectors and social sphere was regularly prepared, including statistical reports; consumers of statistical information were timely provided with statistical books.

Interrelated effective cooperation with ministries and agencies and relevant international organizations was established. The board heard the first half of 2014 reports of the statistical offices and further objectives for 2014 at national, regional level and Dushanbe-city.

The Director of the Statistical Agency assigned specific tasks for the statistical offices, including timely provision of reliable statistical data and prevent cases of falsification of figures when keeping statistical reporting in order to further improve the quality of statistics. The board considered improving the quality and priorities in keeping statistical reporting in the real sector of economy, consumer prices, demographic and social statistics, production of agricultural statistics in the public sector and farm population.

The meeting discussed various issues of quality management of statistical work, timeliness and accuracy of statistical information describing all socio-economic sectors, compliance with the existing methodology to compile official statistics.

There was a productive discussion concerning the effective implementation of works within the existing projects in the direction of statistics of household survey, transition to a sample survey of the activities of dekhkan farms and farm population in the pilot areas.
